Our Mission
SNIPSA is a grassroots organization dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming adoptable animals from high-kill shelters and the local community. We believe in empowering pet owners through education and accessible low-cost spay and neuter services to ensure every companion animal lives a healthy, full life.
A Legacy of Compassion
Founded in 2006 by a group of veterinarians and caring individuals, we have grown into a vital resource for San Antonio’s pet population. Over the last two decades, we have saved over 29,000 animals, directly addressing the regional overpopulation crisis through both direct rescue and large-scale, MASH-style spay and neuter clinics.
Our Foster-Based Model
SNIPSA does not operate a traditional standing shelter. Instead, our rescues thrive in a loving network of foster homes where they receive personalized care, socialization, and medical attention until they are ready for their forever families. This unique approach allows us to learn each animal's personality and needs firsthand, ensuring a seamless and successful transition into your home.

Helping them feel comfortable is part of getting them ready for their next chapter! 9/26 - Well guys, this might‘ve been our best Race yet. 🛼💕 A thousand pre-registrants and many more at the gates came to run, walk and cheer others on.
