Francis of Assisi Society for Animals
Our Mission
The Francis of Assisi Society for Animals is dedicated to the rescue, spay, and neuter of cats and kittens in the greater Bennington, VT area. We work tirelessly to provide a path to forever homes for every animal in our care.
Our Story and Community
Founded in 2003, our organization has spent over two decades serving the needs of local feline populations. As an all-volunteer, donation-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we are deeply committed to meeting the needs of our community by ensuring our rescues receive the care and attention they deserve.
Our Care Model
We believe that every cat thrives in a loving home environment, which is why we operate as a foster-based network rather than a traditional facility. By placing our rescues directly into foster homes, we ensure that every cat receives personalized socialization and care while they wait for their perfect match.
Finding Your New Companion
We view adoption as the start of a joyful partnership and a rewarding journey for both the pet and the adopter. Our team manages a thoughtful application process to ensure that each placement is a successful, long-term match for your family. We are here to guide you through these steps as you welcome a new friend into your home.
