North Country Animal League is dedicated to promoting compassionate and responsible relationships between humans and animals. We envision a nurturing community that accepts responsibility for animal welfare and fosters a humane bond between people and their pets.
Our journey began in 1994, founded on the belief—championed by long-time Hyde Park resident Jan Gordon Stange—that every animal deserves a loving home. Over the past 30 years, we have grown into a cherished animal welfare campus, helping over 15,000 animals find their second chances.
We are a limited-access facility committed to the highest standards of care, ensuring no animal is euthanized for space. Our team provides comprehensive medical evaluations, spay/neuter services, vaccinations, and daily enrichment to every animal that walks through our doors. With the support of our dedicated staff, volunteers, and foster network, we create a safe environment for animals to thrive while they wait for their forever families.
We believe adoption is the beginning of a beautiful, lifelong partnership. Our knowledgeable team acts as your guide, working closely with you to understand your lifestyle and needs so we can match you with the companion best suited to your home. Whether you are looking for a playful kitten, a loyal dog, or a seasoned senior, we are here to ensure a thoughtful and successful transition for both you and your new pet.
There has never been a better time to find your next best friend. We invite you to visit our adoption center in Morrisville to meet the wonderful dogs and cats currently waiting for their new families, or explore our website to learn more about how you can get involved in our mission.
