Welcome to the Springfield Humane Society Inc., a small but progressive animal welfare organization located in the heart of Springfield, Vermont. We are dedicated to improving the lives of pets by providing protection, compassionate care, and adoption services. Our mission is anchored in a vision where every animal is treated with respect, dignity, and compassion. At Springfield Humane Society, we operate a modest shelter that specializes in dogs and cats, but we also accommodate other animals on a case-by-case basis, assessing our resources and space availability. We are committed to our principled approach, where animals are only euthanized if deemed irreparably ill or if their behavior poses a risk to the community. Our organization places a strong emphasis on community outreach and education, striving to solve issues proactively to keep pets out of shelters. We advocate for a humane future for all companion animals, empowering pet owners with knowledge and support. Our core values guide our actions and define our identity: We invite you to visit our shelter from Wednesday to Saturday, between 12 PM and 4 PM, to meet our wonderful adoptable pets. While our community cat rooms are open for socialization, our dog kennels are accessible by request in order to maintain a calm and safe atmosphere for our canine friends.
