King Street Cats
Our Mission
King Street Cats is proud to be the only all-volunteer, cat-exclusive, no-kill rescue facility in Alexandria, Virginia. We are dedicated to providing a safe haven for cats in need until they find their forever homes, while actively assisting the community with education and feline welfare.
Who We Are
As an all-volunteer organization with no paid staff, our mission is driven by a passionate community of animal lovers committed to saving lives. We believe that every cat in our care deserves a bright future and a place to belong. By focusing exclusively on cats, we can offer specialized care that addresses their unique needs and personalities.
Our Care Model
At our free-roaming facility in Alexandria, we create a comfortable, stress-free environment that allows our cats to socialize and shine. We also rely on a dedicated foster network to provide care in home settings, ensuring every cat receives the attention they deserve. This blend of center-based and home-based care allows us to support over 400 cats and kittens each year.
Finding Your Perfect Match
We believe that adopting a pet is a meaningful, lifelong commitment, and we strive to make the best possible match for both the animal and your family. Our knowledgeable Adoption Counselors work closely with you to understand your lifestyle and experience, ensuring a partnership built on happiness and mutual love. Because we take the time to know each cat’s individual personality, we can help you find your true best feline friend.
Join Our Community
We invite you to visit us during our open house hours on Saturdays and Sundays to meet the cats currently waiting for their families. Whether you are ready to adopt, interested in volunteering, or want to learn more about our programs, we look forward to connecting with you.
