Lucky Dog Animal Rescue
A Second Chance for Every Pet
At Lucky Dog Animal Rescue, we believe that every animal deserves a loving, forever home. As a dedicated, volunteer-powered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we are committed to rescuing homeless and neglected dogs and cats, ensuring they receive the compassionate care they need to thrive.
Our Mission Since 2009
Founded in 2009, we have been working tirelessly to save lives and combat the cycle of animal homelessness. Over the years, our community has come together to rescue more than 35,000 at-risk dogs and cats, providing them with safety, medical attention, and the chance for a bright future.
How We Operate
We take a unique, multi-layered approach to rescue. Our foster-based program in the Washington, DC metro area provides a nurturing environment for our pets as they prepare for adoption. Meanwhile, our state-of-the-art rescue campus in Florence County, South Carolina, allows us to provide comprehensive medical care, including spay and neuter services, for animals before they enter our foster network.
Your Role in Their Journey
Adopting is more than just gaining a pet; it is about welcoming a new, loyal family member into your home. We pride ourselves on a personalized, thoughtful adoption process that connects you with an animal perfectly suited to your lifestyle. Our dedicated adoption counselors are here to guide you every step of the way, ensuring that both you and your new companion are set up for a lifetime of happiness.

10/16 - It’s official - Barney has been cat tested and he passed! I had a feeling he would do great with cats since he doesn’t have much prey drive (although he is playful! But they understood each other from the get go ❤️) #cattest #catfriendly #adoptmetoday
