Hanover County Animal Protection
Your New Best Friend Awaits
At Hanover County Animal Protection & Shelter, we are dedicated to connecting the animals in our care with loving, permanent homes. Our mission is to provide a safe, welcoming environment for every companion animal waiting to meet their perfect match.
Serving Our Community
Located in Ashland, Virginia, our shelter serves as a vital resource for the pets and people of Hanover County. We pride ourselves on being a transparent, accessible point of care for both stray animals and those searching for a long-term family member.
How We Provide Care
We operate a professional facility at 12471 Taylor Complex Lane, staffed by a team committed to animal welfare. Our doors are open to the public during regular business hours from Tuesday through Saturday to ensure every animal receives the attention and care they deserve. We also maintain active field services every day of the week to ensure the safety of our community animals.
The Joy of Adoption
Adoption is the start of a beautiful partnership, and we are here to help you find your best ever companion. Whether you are looking for a playful kitten, a loyal dog, or another species, our team is ready to support you through the process of meeting our current residents and finding a meaningful connection.
