Lake Country SPCA
Our Mission
Lake Country SPCA is a 501(c)(3) animal welfare organization dedicated to enriching the lives of animals through rehabilitation, protection, care, education, and finding forever loving homes. We envision a community where every pet is happy, healthy, and safe, celebrating the profound bond between humans and animals.
Our Story
Our journey began in September 2002 when a group of concerned citizens united to address the number of stray animals roaming the streets of Clarksville, VA. What started with volunteers keeping animals safe in their own homes and backyards has grown into a dedicated facility built in 2015. Today, we are proud to continue this compassionate tradition, serving as a beacon of hope for animals in need.
How We Help
As a private, no-kill shelter, we rely entirely on the generosity of donors, grants, and adoption fees, as we receive no government or agency funding. Our professional team provides medical care, spay and neuter services, and daily enrichment for an average of 700 rescued animals each year. We work tirelessly to provide a safe, nurturing environment until each pet finds its perfect match.
Your Role in Their Journey
Adopting a pet is a life-changing, joyful commitment that creates a lasting partnership. We strive to make that transition seamless by carefully matching each animal's unique personality and needs with the right family. Whether you are looking for a playful kitten or a seasoned, house-trained companion, your decision to adopt directly supports our mission to provide second chances to those who need them most.
