The Humane Society of Northern Virginia (HSNV), powered by A3P, is dedicated to promoting the human-animal bond and a no-kill philosophy through compassion, empathy, and education. Our mission is to advocate for companion pets by providing them with the nurturing, training, and care they need to find their perfect forever home.

As a community of volunteer pet lovers, we are driven by our passion for saving lives. We believe that Pets 4 Life is the gold standard for our community, and we work diligently to help keep pets in their homes. By operating with transparency and respect, we strive for a future where people value companion animals as lifelong family members.
How We Operate
HSNV is a volunteer-led non-profit committed to the Five Freedoms of animal care. We provide our pets with immediate veterinary attention, socialization, and a safe environment until they are ready to be adopted. Because we do not receive federal or state funding, our life-saving work is made possible entirely through the generosity of donors and the dedication of our volunteer team.
