Cat’s Cradle is dedicated to ensuring and maintaining a safe, compassionate community for cats in the Shenandoah Valley. We believe that every cat deserves a chance and that every family deserves support in providing a loving home.
Our History and Purpose
Founded in 1998 by Pat Rossi, Cat’s Cradle emerged from a vision to create humane, life-saving solutions for stray and abandoned cats. Today, we continue this legacy by addressing the root causes of overpopulation through targeted spay/neuter initiatives, Trap, Neuter and Return (TNR) programs, and essential pet retention services across Augusta, Page, and Rockingham counties.
How We Care for Cats
We operate as a foster-based rescue, meaning our adoptable cats and kittens are cared for in home environments until they find their permanent families. This personalized approach allows us to get to know each cat’s unique personality while they wait for their new beginning. Additionally, we provide rehoming support and adoption opportunities through local partnerships and our downtown cat center.

We ensure each cat is ready for their new home by providing wellness exams, vaccinations, microchipping, and spay/neuter services.
