Hooves & Paws Animal Rescue is a nonprofit, no-kill shelter dedicated to giving abandoned, abused, and unwanted animals a second chance at a new and happy life. We work tirelessly to provide a safe haven for those who have nowhere else to turn.
Our Journey and Mission
Founded in 2002, our rescue was built on the belief that every animal deserves a loving, secure home. We saw a unique need to create a sanctuary that could accommodate a wide variety of species, from dogs and cats to horses and farm animals, ensuring they receive lifelong care if they cannot be adopted.
Our Sanctuary Approach
Located in Louisa, Virginia, our volunteer-based sanctuary acts as a place of healing where we provide nutritious food, soft bedding, and expert veterinary care. Our dedicated team works around the clock to help our residents recover both physically and psychologically from their pasts, surrounded by the companionship of fellow animals and humans alike.

We provide as much information as we can about our rescued animals, all of whom receive health checks, vaccinations, and spay/neuter services before they meet their new families.
