Petersburg Animal Care & Control
Our Mission
At Petersburg Animal Care and Control, we are dedicated to providing the best possible resolutions for every animal that comes through our doors. We believe in the inherent value of every animal and work daily to protect their rights and well-being.
Our Commitment to Our Community
Located in the heart of historic Petersburg, Virginia, our open-door shelter serves as a vital resource for our city’s residents. We are deeply committed to keeping animals in their homes whenever possible and assisting people with their animal-related challenges, ensuring that every pet is treated with the care and respect they deserve.
How We Care
As an open-door public shelter, we provide a safe environment for all animals that our residents entrust to our care. To ensure our animals find the best homes, we partner with various venues—including PetSmart—and utilize extensive social media and online platforms to provide them with maximum exposure to potential adopters.
Connecting Pets and People
We believe that adoption is a joyful journey, and we take our role in finding the perfect match seriously. By sharing our animals' stories through our website and community partners, we strive to create lasting, loving partnerships between our rescues and the families who welcome them home.
