Franklin Co. Humane Society/Planned Pethood Clinic & Adoption Center
Our Mission
The Franklin County Humane Society is dedicated to creating a community where every dog and cat has the opportunity for a healthy, happy life in a loving home. Through our work in rescue, adoption, and spay/neuter services, we strive to give every animal the second chance they deserve.
Our History and Purpose
Since our founding in 1977, we have remained committed to preventing cruelty to animals and supporting the welfare of pets in our community. We believe that local, accessible care is the key to reducing pet overpopulation and ensuring that every animal is treated with dignity and compassion.
Our Care Model
Located in Rocky Mount, Virginia, our facility serves as a vibrant, safe sanctuary for homeless pets awaiting their forever families. Our Adoption Center features bright, enriched spaces like our cozy cat rooms and spacious doggie dens, where staff and volunteers provide dedicated care and socialization. Beyond housing, we prioritize the medical well-being of every animal, performing thorough examinations, vaccinations, and spay/neuter surgeries to ensure they are healthy and ready to thrive in their new homes.
Your Role in Their Journey
We believe that adopting a pet is a joyful partnership that transforms lives. Our team works hard to ensure that each pet is matched with a loving environment, offering support as you welcome a new friend into your family. By choosing to adopt, you become a vital part of our mission to build a kinder world for animals.
