Madison-Greene Humane Society
Our Mission
The Madison-Greene Humane Society is dedicated to providing a safe haven for abandoned and homeless cats in Greene County, Virginia. As a no-kill rescue organization, we work tirelessly to ensure every feline in our care receives the kindness and support they deserve while awaiting their forever homes.
Serving Our Community
We believe in building a healthier future for all pets in Central Virginia. By offering low-cost spay and neuter clinics, we actively participate in the solution to pet overpopulation, helping our neighbors provide essential care for their beloved animal companions.
Our Care Philosophy
Operating from our shelter in Ruckersville, we welcome approximately 300 cats every year who have been surrendered or found in need of assistance. Our team is committed to providing a clean, safe environment where social and emotional development is a top priority for every resident, especially our kittens who thrive when adopted as pairs.
A Meaningful Partnership
We view adoption as a lifelong promise and a joyful new chapter for both our cats and their families. To ensure the best outcomes, our dedicated team carefully reviews every application to foster healthy, permanent matches that prioritize the safety and wellbeing of our cats for years to come.
