Saving Pets One at a Time (S.P.O.T.) is an all-volunteer, foster-based non-profit organization dedicated to bringing cats and dogs in our care to a healthy, adoptable state. We strive to reduce pet overpopulation while actively working to lessen neglect and suffering in our communities.
Founded to serve the Skagit Valley and beyond, we are a 501(c)(3) charitable organization committed to the well-being of companion animals. Our work is driven by a deep love for pets and a desire to see every animal live a long, healthy life alongside a loving family.
We operate as a foster-based rescue, where our dedicated and patient fosters care for animals as if they were their own. Before heading to their forever homes, every pet receives essential veterinary care, including vaccinations, spay or neuter services, and microchipping, ensuring they are ready for their new life. We are committed to transparency, disclosing known health conditions to ensure our adopters feel fully informed and confident.
We believe that adoption is a joyful partnership, which is why we take great care in matching each cat or dog to the best possible home. Our placement process—which includes application reviews, phone interviews, and in-person meet-and-greets—ensures that every transition is successful and rewarding for both the pet and the adopter.
Are you ready to welcome a new companion into your life? We invite you to explore our available pets listed on Petfinder or reach out to our team with any questions. Whether you are looking to adopt, volunteer, or support our mission, we look forward to meeting you and helping you find your new best friend.
