Welcome to Okanogan Regional Humane, where our mission is to provide essential care and support to animals in Okanogan County and surrounding areas. Since our inception in 2002 as The Abandoned Cat Team, we have dedicated ourselves to tackling the critical issue of pet overpopulation through comprehensive spay, neuter, and adoption programs.
At Okanogan Regional Humane, we believe that spaying and neutering are vital solutions to the rampant homelessness of cats and dogs. We are committed to serving our community by providing low-cost or even free spay and neuter services to ensure that all families, regardless of income, have access to these essential veterinary procedures. We also place great emphasis on emergency care for cats and dogs in need, aiming to alleviate their stress and suffering.
In our collaboration with the Animal Foster Care Cat Shelter (AFC), established since 1984, we have enhanced our rescue capabilities. Together, we not only provide spay and neuter services but also focus on adopting out the cats and dogs in our care, particularly those that may need extra time and patience due to their shy nature.
Our core beliefs drive everything we do: We firmly uphold that the solution to pet homelessness lies in spaying and neutering, the transfer of unwanted animals to no-kill rescues, and crucial partnerships that help us find forever homes for these pets. We have a dedicated team of volunteers who work tirelessly to support our mission and meet the ever-growing needs of our community.
The construction of our state-of-the-art spay and neuter clinic allows us to increase our capacity and enhance the quality of care we provide. We invite our supporters to get involved through donations, volunteering, or participating in events like our Cat Cafe Soirees, which raise awareness and funds for our operations.
As we work towards a future where every cat and dog has a loving home, we recognize that we cannot do this alone. We are grateful for the incredible support from our community, and we encourage potential adopters and animal lovers to join us in our journey. Together, we can make a significant difference in the lives of the animals in our care.
