Pet OverPopulation Prevention (POPP) is dedicated to promoting responsible pet care and providing non-lethal, low-cost solutions to the challenge of pet overpopulation in the Tri-Cities community.
Since 1995, we have served our community as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization focused on preventing unwanted litters through education and accessible spay/neuter services. By facilitating cooperation between area shelters, rescue programs, and local groups, we help reduce the number of healthy animals that are euthanized as a method of population control.
We are a proud, volunteer-based organization. Unlike traditional brick-and-mortar shelters, our rescues thrive in loving, temporary foster homes where they receive veterinary care, vaccinations, and microchipping until they are ready to meet their new families. This foster-based model allows our volunteers to provide personalized attention, ensuring each pet is healthy, socialized, and prepared for a successful transition into their forever home.
We believe every pet deserves a second chance, and we are committed to finding the perfect match for both the animal and your lifestyle. Our thorough adoption process and pre-adoption questionnaires help ensure that our rescues find a lasting, loving partnership with their new families. We consider it a privilege to guide you through the journey of meeting and welcoming your new companion.
Are you ready to find your new best friend? We invite you to view our available cats and dogs online, or visit our adoption events at PetSmart in Kennewick to meet some of our wonderful residents. If you would like to support our work further, we are always looking for dedicated volunteers to help us continue our life-saving mission.
