Olympic Peninsula Humane Society

Our Mission

At the Olympic Peninsula Humane Society, we are dedicated to providing the highest level of compassion for the animals entrusted to our care. We strive to measurably reduce companion animal overpopulation in Clallam County while leading the way in promoting humane values and education.

Serving Our Community Since 1947

Founded in 1947, our organization has spent decades protecting the homeless, helpless, and suffering animals of Clallam County. With the steadfast support of our community, we have expanded our services and facilities to create safer, brighter futures for thousands of animals who deserve a loving home and a happy life.

Our Care Model

We operate two specialized facilities designed to provide comfort and enrichment. Our BarkHouse, set on 9.5 acres and fully renovated in 2025, offers a modern, safe environment for dogs of all ages. Meanwhile, Kitty City provides a dedicated feline shelter featuring cat-friendly catios and on-site veterinary services.

The Joy of Adoption

We believe that adoption is a personal journey and a lifelong partnership. Our dedicated team works closely with each potential adopter through careful counseling to ensure every pet finds a home that perfectly matches their unique needs and your lifestyle. Because we prioritize finding the best possible match for every animal, you can feel confident in starting a rewarding new chapter with your companion.

Join Our Mission

Are you ready to meet your new best friend? We invite you to view our adoptable animals online, visit us at our locations in Port Angeles or Sequim, or join our newsletter to stay updated on our latest success stories and community events. Together, we can continue to make a lasting, positive impact on the lives of animals in need.
