Center Valley Animal Rescue is dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming domestic and wild animals in need. We believe every creature has inherent value and deserves a safe, caring environment where their basic needs are met with compassion.
Founded in 2002 by Sara Penhallegon, our organization began as a dedicated network of foster families committed to providing a soft landing for animals in crisis. Since purchasing our 32-acre ranch in 2004, we have transformed the land into a vibrant sanctuary that serves as a vital community resource for Jefferson County. Our history is built on a foundation of love and a commitment to ensuring that no animal is left behind.
Our work spans from intensive medical care to providing permanent sanctuary for animals who may not be suitable for adoption. We operate a fully equipped 32-acre facility featuring barns, shelters, and a specialized medical center to support our domestic and wildlife residents. Whether we are housing overflow from other shelters or providing rehabilitation for wildlife, our dedicated team of volunteers and staff works tirelessly to give every animal a dignified path forward.
We are committed to thoughtful, responsible adoptions that create lifelong bonds between pets and their new families. Because we want to ensure the best possible match, we require an approved application before scheduling a meet and greet. We invite you to explore our available animals and see how you can become a part of their success story.
We are grateful for our supporters who make this work possible. Whether you are interested in adopting, volunteering, or learning more about our programs, we would love to connect with you.
