Emerald City Pet Rescue exists to rescue abused, neglected, and homeless animals from high-volume shelters around the country. We believe that every animal deserves compassion, care, and a chance to thrive in a loving, permanent home.
Our Story
Founded by Vivian Goldbloom in 2013, our organization began as a small rescue operation and has since grown into a multifaceted support network. Today, we are united by a shared purpose—to provide safety, healing, and lifelong support for animals in need while inspiring kindness and advocacy in the communities we serve.
How We Care
Our dedicated staff and volunteers work tirelessly to house, train, and rehabilitate animals in our care. We operate from our adoption center in Seattle’s SoDo neighborhood, and we are proud to steward an 80-acre equine and farm animal sanctuary at Ghost Owl Farm on Vashon Island. Through this blend of sanctuary space and community-based foster care, we provide the best medical care possible to help our rescues find their footing.

We pride ourselves on our thoughtful matching process, which ensures that each pet’s individual personality and needs align with their new family. Because we want to ensure the environment is the best fit for both parties, we prioritize interviews, home visits, and consistent post-adoption check-ins.
