Our Mission
Kitten Rescue of Mason County strives to reduce the number of abandoned and unwanted kittens and cats by adopting them into loving, lifelong homes. We are dedicated to promoting spay and neuter programs to stop the cycle of overpopulation and neglect while building a brighter future for all our feline friends.
Our History
Founded in 1999, our organization began as a small group of volunteers determined to fill a critical gap in resources for abandoned cats in Mason County. Today, we remain the only physical, no-kill shelter in the county devoted exclusively to the care of cats and kittens, having saved thousands of lives through our compassionate, community-focused approach.
How We Operate
Our shelter has grown to include a cozy main cottage and six small outbuildings, providing a safe haven for cats in need. Beyond our physical facility, we rely on a dedicated network of foster families who socialize kittens and prepare them for their future homes. We also serve the community through low-income spay/neuter assistance and a free feral Trap, Neuter, and Return (TNR) program to ensure feline welfare across the region.
