Vashon Island Pet Protectors
Our Mission
Vashon Island Pet Protectors (VIPP) is dedicated to preventing pet homelessness on Vashon Island by mobilizing a passionate community of volunteers, donors, and partners. We exist to ensure that every companion animal finds a safe, loving, and permanent home.
A Legacy of Compassion
Established in 1984, our organization has spent over four decades improving the quality of life for animals in our community. We believe in providing a compassionate resource for people and pets alike, offering support through services like financial assistance for veterinary care and our No Hungry Pets food distribution program.
How We Care
As a proud no-kill rescue, we provide shelter, food, and medical care to lost, abandoned, or relinquished animals. Our cats are housed at our dedicated shelter, while our dogs benefit from a network of vetted foster homes or are boarded locally on Vashon until they find their perfect match. This variety of environments ensures every animal receives the specific care, socialization, and attention they need to thrive.
The Perfect Match
Adoption is a joyful, lifelong partnership, and we are committed to making the best possible rescue match for your family. We carefully consider each animal's unique personality, energy levels, and background to ensure a harmonious transition into your home. By maintaining transparency about our pets, we provide you with all the information you need to make a confident, loving choice.
