The Hancock County Humane Foundation is dedicated to making a positive, lasting impact in the lives of animals within our community. We believe that by working together, we can protect our furry friends and provide them with the care and futures they deserve.
For over 30 years, our Foundation has worked tirelessly to serve the animals of Hancock County. We were initially established to operate the local animal shelter with a humane model that reserves euthanasia only for ending suffering, choosing rehabilitation as our primary path forward. Today, we continue that legacy by providing essential resources to caretakers, assisting with medical bills, and promoting spay and neuter services to ensure every life is valued.
We are proud to vet and house over 200 cats annually, preparing them for their forever homes. Beyond adoptions, we manage a Trap, Neuter, Release (TNR) program to control the population of feral and stray cats humanely and operate a bi-weekly pet food pantry for community members in need. Our commitment to animal welfare remains at the center of everything we do.
Adopting a pet is a joyful partnership, and we are here to help you find a companion who will bring love into your home for years to come. We invite you to meet our wonderful cats and see the personality of your potential new family member firsthand. Every animal currently in our care is just waiting for the right person to offer them a second chance.
We would love to introduce you to the cats waiting for their forever homes at our facility located at 241 Ohio River Blvd, New Cumberland, WV. We are open to the public on Sundays from 2-5 pm and are available by appointment to suit your schedule. Come visit us, meet our adoptable cats, and discover how you can help us save lives.
