At New River Animal Rescue, our mission is simple: to save lives, provide compassionate care, and find loving homes for animals in our community. We believe every animal deserves a healthy, positive outcome in a warm and caring environment.
Our roots go back to January 2001, when we began as Citizens For The Prevention Of Animal Cruelty (C-PAC). After evolving into the New River Humane Society, we relocated to Oak Hill, West Virginia, in 2022 to establish ourselves as an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit committed to serving the needs of animals in Fayette County and beyond.
As an independent organization, we rely entirely on individual donations, grants, and the support of our Barks & Boops Boarding facility to fuel our work. Our team focuses on dedicated animal care, including medical rehabilitation, behavioral support, and public education, to ensure every pet is ready for their next chapter.
We believe that finding the perfect companion is a joyous, collaborative process. By working closely with our adopters to ensure compatibility, we aim to build lasting relationships that transform lives for both pets and their new families. Whether you choose to adopt, foster, or volunteer, you are an essential part of the compassionate team working to fight pet overpopulation.
