Jackson County Animal Shelter

The Jackson County Animal Shelter is dedicated to providing a safe haven for lost and stray animals within our community. Operated by Jackson County in partnership with the City of Black River Falls, our shelter is committed to reuniting lost pets with their families and finding loving homes for unwanted and stray companion animals. Our mission is built upon core values of compassion and responsibility. We strive to care for each animal entrusted to us until they can be either reunited with their owners or placed in a nurturing and forever home. For those animals that cannot be adopted due to behavioral or medical issues, we ensure they are treated with the utmost kindness and respect during their time with us. We actively respond to reports of inhumane treatment of animals, advocating for their welfare and referring cases to the appropriate authorities. Moreover, we believe in promoting responsible pet ownership, encouraging all pet owners to ensure the well-being of their companions. In collaboration with the Jackson County Humane Society, we are also focused on education and outreach, striving to create a community that values and supports animal welfare.
