The Iowa County Humane Society is dedicated to making our communities more humane places for all animals by providing shelter and care to those in need. We work towards a world where every animal has a loving, forever home through our commitment to a no-kill philosophy.
Formed in 1998 by a group of concerned citizens, we officially became an incorporated 501(c)(3) non-profit in 2001. Over the years, we have served Iowa County and surrounding areas, helping nearly 10,000 animals find their way into the loving homes they deserve.
We provide a safe, nurturing environment at our shelter in Dodgeville, where we manage all essential medical treatments, including vaccinations, surgeries, and daily care. Our dedicated team and volunteers work tirelessly to ensure that every resident receives the training, socialization, and attention they need while awaiting their next chapter. We also rely on a robust network of volunteers to support every facet of our daily operations.
Adopting is a joyful partnership, and we are here to help you find the perfect family member. Our staff is committed to a thoughtful process that ensures a successful, long-term bond between you and your new companion. Because we strive to get our residents into homes as quickly as possible, we even offer same-day adoptions for qualified applicants.
Are you ready to meet your new best friend? We invite you to view our adoptable dogs and cats online or visit us at our Dodgeville shelter during our open hours. Whether you choose to adopt, volunteer, or support us through our wish list, your involvement helps us continue our mission of providing a voice and a chance for every animal.
