Rusk County Animal Shelter
Our Mission
The Rusk County Animal Shelter is dedicated to promoting care, kindness, and compassion for all living things. We protect and serve both the people and animals of our community through dedicated intervention, education, and the promotion of responsible pet ownership.
Serving Rusk County
Located in Ladysmith, our facility serves as a vital refuge for stray, unwanted, injured, and neglected domestic animals from across the county. We provide a safe, supportive environment where every animal receives veterinary care and the chance for a better life until they find their forever home.
Our Commitment to Care
We are proud to operate as a no-kill shelter, ensuring that humane decisions are only made in cases of untreatable, prolonged suffering. Our team is committed to the health and well-being of every resident, ensuring all animals are vaccinated and spayed or neutered before they are adopted. By networking with other organizations and utilizing social media, we actively work to connect each of our animals with the loving family they deserve.
