Our Story and Purpose
Our organization was founded in 1993 following the tragic loss of Flash, a Basset Hound whose memory continues to inspire our work today. We operate as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, relying on the generosity of our community to provide a safe, nurturing haven for pets in need. We are proud to uphold a no-kill philosophy, ensuring that every animal we serve is treated with dignity and provided the five basic freedoms they deserve.
How We Care for Our Animals
Operating from our facility on Brickyard Road, we provide a structured environment where every resident receives thorough medical evaluations, vaccinations, and spay or neuter services. Our team emphasizes fear-free handling to ensure the mental and physical health of our animals while they wait to meet their new families. Beyond the shelter, we are active in the community through low-cost microchipping clinics, support for registered Community Cat colonies, and our pet pantry for owners in need.
