The Clark County Humane Society is a dedicated non-profit organization providing care and a pathway to adoption for lost, surrendered, and unwanted cats and dogs. We are proud to be the premier no-kill shelter in Central Wisconsin, ensuring that every pet entrusted to our care receives a guaranteed, loving future.
Why We Are Here
For years, we have served as a sanctuary for animals in need, driven by the belief that every pet deserves a soft place to land. Our facility operates with a commitment to alleviating animal suffering and actively reducing pet overpopulation through education and our low-cost FixaPet spay/neuter program. As a privately funded organization, we rely on the compassion of our 5,500 members to continue this vital community work.
How We Care
We provide a safe, nurturing shelter environment where our animals are treated as if they were our own. Each pet receives comprehensive medical evaluations, vaccinations, blood testing, and, when necessary, dedicated treatment for injuries or illnesses. Our team of staff and volunteers monitors every resident closely, ensuring they remain healthy and comfortable until they find their perfect match.

10/7 - 🐾 Meet Tiny! 🐾 Tiny is just over a year old, but somehow she has already spent SIX whole months waiting for a home. 💔 She originally came to us as a stray and was never claimed. Tiny has Wobbly Cat Syndrome, which means she can be a little unsteady on her feet sometimes — but it certainly doesn’t stop her from being Tiny! ❤️ She’s not the biggest fan of other cats, so she’d much rather be the queen of her own castle. 👑🐱 Six months is far too long. Let’s help Tiny finally find her person. 🏡💕

10/6 - 🚨 WARNING: Extremely dangerous animal ahead. 🚨 Meet Lita… otherwise known as the elusive house hippo. 🦛🐾 She may look sweet, squishy, and just a *little* well-fed, but don’t be fooled. This girl takes her snacks VERY seriously. 😂 Treat #1? Successfully acquired. ✅ Treat #2? She went for the catch with everything she had… unfortunately, the athletic ability did not match the enthusiasm. 🤣 Listen, you can’t expect a house hippo to be aerodynamic. Lita may be a little chunky, a little uncoordinated, and apparently terrible at catching flying snacks—but we think that just adds to her charm. 💕😂 10/10 house hippo. 10/10 snack enthusiast. 2/10 treat-catching skills.
