Oconto Area Humane Society and Animal Shelter
Our Mission
The Oconto Area Humane Society & Animal Shelter, Inc. is a 501(c)3 open-admission shelter dedicated to providing protection, care, and shelter for abandoned and homeless companion animals. We are passionate about giving every animal who comes through our doors the safety and respect they deserve while they await their forever families.
Providing a Second Chance
As an open-admission shelter, we serve as a vital community resource for animals in need. We are committed to fostering a supportive environment where homeless companion animals can thrive while receiving the medical attention and care necessary to prepare them for a new chapter in life.
Our Care Model
Our dedicated team—ranging from our shelter staff to our board members—works tirelessly both on the front lines and behind the scenes to keep our facility running smoothly. We believe in the power of community support, utilizing a blend of shelter care and foster opportunities to ensure each animal receives the socialization and specialized care they need to prepare for adoption.
Your Perfect Match
We strive to make adoption a joyful, successful experience for everyone involved. By utilizing a personalized adoption questionnaire and interview process, our adoption counselors help ensure that the pet you choose is the right fit for your home, your family, and your lifestyle. We even offer a 30-day Adoption Assurance Pledge, because we want your new relationship to be a lasting, happy partnership.
