Welcome to the Oshkosh Area Humane Society (OAHS), where our commitment is guided by compassion and a deep respect for every animal. Located at 1925 Shelter Court in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, our organization is dedicated to providing a safe haven for homeless pets while promoting humane treatment for all animals in our community.
At OAHS, our mission is clear: to provide compassionate care and comfort to animals in need, alongside building a community that values the humane treatment of all living creatures. We take pride in offering life-saving services, which include medical care, nutrition, and socialization for the animals in our shelter. Our comprehensive support services also extend to community members, ensuring that pets and their families live happy and healthy lives together.
Our values—Compassion, Empathy, Respect, and Proactive Support—are at the core of all we do. With a focus on educating our community, we offer a variety of low-cost vaccination and microchip clinics, behavioral counseling for pet retention, and a pet food pantry to assist those in need.
OAHS is more than just a shelter; we are an independent, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that relies on the generosity of donors and volunteers. We proudly operate without affiliations to any other humane organization or governmental funding, allowing us to maintain our mission-driven focus entirely. Our belief that every pet deserves a second chance drives us to work tirelessly to save lives and connect pets with loving forever homes.
Our public visiting hours are Tuesday through Friday from 1 PM to 6 PM and Saturday from 11 AM to 3 PM. Please remember that visits to meet dogs are by appointment to ensure a safe and personalized experience for both our visitors and our animals.
Join us in making a difference! Explore volunteer opportunities, foster a pet, or donate to help us ensure a bright future for homeless animals. We invite you to share in our mission of compassion, caring, and community as we work together toward a healthier and happier world for pets and people alike.
