Our Mission
Rivers and Bluffs Animal Shelter serves as a passionate advocate for companion animals, providing quality care as we seek their perfect forever homes and educate our community about responsible pet ownership.
Our Story
Our journey began in 2007 when a dedicated group of neighbors gathered in a Prairie du Chien park to address the urgent need for local animal welfare support. After years of hard work, fundraising, and community partnership, we proudly opened our doors in December 2017 to serve the counties of Grant, Crawford, and Clayton in southwest Wisconsin and northeast Iowa.
How We Care
We are a private, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that operates a managed-intake facility, allowing us to provide personalized attention and an enriched environment for every cat and dog in our care. Because we do not euthanize for space, we prioritize medical health and emotional stability, ensuring all animals receive necessary vaccinations, testing, and spay/neuter services before they are ready for adoption.
