The Laramie Animal Welfare Society (LAWS) is dedicated to enhancing the lives of animals in Laramie and surrounding communities. We achieve this through rescue, rehoming, and comprehensive community programs that promote humane treatment and responsible pet ownership.

Our Story

Born from a legacy of local animal advocacy dating back to 1998, we evolved into a dedicated 501(c)(3) non-profit to address diverse community needs. Today, we are proud to be a no-kill organization that has transitioned from supporting city facilities to operating our own rescue and welfare programs.

How We Operate

We are a passionate, volunteer-driven organization that believes every animal deserves a second chance. Because most of our adoptable dogs and cats thrive in the care of compassionate foster families, they receive individualized attention and love until they find their permanent homes. We also provide essential medical care, behavioral training, and community-wide support for pets and their families.
